Sijo :: Genealogy

saying he found me
under the dari, the arch
of my mother's dari, her splayed legs—
I felt fortunate to be called
the daughter of a bridge.

Born in South Korea and raised in Peru, Ae Hee Lee is the author of two poetry chapbooks: Dear bear, (Platypus, 2021) and Bedtime || Riverbed (Compound, 2017).
