Hariton Pushwagner (Terje Brofos) was born in 1940 in Oslo. He studied there at the School of Arts and Crafts and at the National Academy of Fine Arts and in Paris at the Cité Internationale des Arts. His international breakthrough came in 2008 when the original drawings of Soft City were exhibited at the Berlin Biennale of Contemporary Art; The New York Times called them one of the highlights of the show.
