Lola Mitchell

Lola Mitchell (she/her) is a fine art photographer who uses textures and digital painting to create stories through images. She was born in Paris and has lived in Los Angeles since 1999. She grew up between a darkroom and a stage: her father was the fashion and theater photographer Jorge Damonte, and her mother was the contemporary dancer Marcia Moretto. Both of their influences can be seen in her work, which features heavy manipulations through digital editing and movement. She started by working exclusively on iPhone/iPad, but is now focusing on shooting with a DSLR (Nikon D810) and editing in Photoshop. Mitchell shoots a lot underwater and finds it widely inspiring and will keep having a body of work that has both over- and underwater creations. Her photography is surrealistic, feminine, and painterly.
